Two more women in Nalasopara woke up to find their hair had been mysteriously chopped during the night. Both women had to be rushed to hospital in an unconscious state due to shock.
Shabana Banu, 27, was alone at home in Dhanev Baug, Nalasopara East, when the incident took place. She said, "I woke up at 5 am, sensing someone was inside. I was shocked to see my chopped hair braids lying on the floor."
Neighbours came to her rescue after she shouted for help.
"She was unconscious when she was brought to the hospital. She is still in trauma and needs rest," said Krishna Shukla from the Shree Sai hospital management.
Santoshbhovan resident Binadevi Jaiswal, 23, had a similar story. She went to bed at 3.30 am. In the morning, she was woken up by a tickling sensation on her face. She opened her eyes to find her chopped hair on the pillow next to her. "She was in so much shock that her blood pressure shot up and she fell unconscious," said her husband, Narayan Jaiswal.
"No such case has been reported yet to any of the police stations," said Deputy SP Anil Akde, Waliv and Vasai division.
