After raking in Rs 30.14 crore on day one, Ajay Devgn‘s Golmaal Again has emerged as the highest Bollywood opener of 2017. However it failed to BEAT the first day collections of Singham Returns to becomes Ajay’s second highest box office opener yet. If you look at the opening day collections of all Ajay Devgn films, you will realise that Singham Returns still remains his highest opener with a collection of Rs 32.09 crore. His latest release – Golmaal Again (Rs 30.14 crore) is in second place with his last release – Baadshaho (Rs 12.60 crore) in third spot. Himmatwala (Rs 12.10 crore), Bol Bachchan (Rs 12.10 crore), Satyagraha (Rs 11.21 crore), Son of Sardaar (Rs 10.72 crore) and Action Jackson (Rs 10.25 crore) follow suit.
Both Singham Returns (Independence Day 2014) and Golmaal Again (Diwali 2017) raked in such a huge amount on day one courtesy the holiday period that they released in. In fact, with a fantastic ensemble cast and an extended holiday period, we expect Golmaal Again to continue raking in the moolah and end up with a massive first weekend collection at the domestic box office. But will it be able to become the actor’s highest opening weekend grosser? That’s something we will have to wait and watch!
