Prabhas and Rana Daggubati’s Baahubali 2 set to cross the Rs 1000 crore mark at the Indian box office

Prabhas, Rana Daggubati and Anushka Shetty’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has gone on a record-breaking spree ever since it released on April 28. The movie has been raking in loads of money on a daily basis. And even after 21 days at the box office, Baahubali 2 is unstoppable. It has raked in Rs 953 crore in the Indian market through all the four versions (Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam) till now. But with the film holding well and continuing to rake in the moolah, we expect it to cross the Rs 1000 mark at the Indian box office pretty soon. Talking about the detailed collections, trade analyst and industry tracker, Ramesh Bala mentioned on Twitter, “#Baahubali2 – India: Nett: Rs 953 crore, Gross: Rs 1227 crore. Overseas: Rs 275 crore. Total: Rs 1502 crore.”

Meanwhile, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has also become the first film to cross the Rs 1500 crore mark in the worldwide market, thereby creating another record in the process. The movie now has several records to its name, especially in the domestic Indian market. While it created these records with ease, it will be very difficult for Bollywood movies with even the biggest of superstars to even touch these feats. Baahubali 2’s success lies in SS Rajamouli‘s vision of creating a pan-India film. The universal appeal, paired with a fantastic story line and huge investment in production work, helped the movie. But it was the buzz created by the first part that is the major contributing factor. Baahubali: The Beginning ended on a cliffhanger and everyone wanted to know why Kattapa killed Baahubali? So people flocked to the theatres in search for the answer. After being amazed by the fantastic movie, several people went to watch it again and again. And they will continue to do so for a few more weeks. (ALSO READ – Will Salman Khan’s Tubelight break the records of Baahubali 2? Vote now)
