Commenting on the new ABS variant, Sajeev Rajasekharan, EVP, Sales and Marketing, SMIPL, said, "We are pleased to announce the ABS fitted variant of Gixxer SF. The safety and well-being of our customers is of paramount importance for us at Suzuki. The new variants not only enhance the rider's safety, but also make every ride more exciting. We are confident that the new Gixxer SF variant will strengthen our foothold amongst the conscientious young riders who want to make a style statement, but also don't want to compromise on their safety."
ABS is a welcome addition as it prevents the wheel from locking up under panic braking, thereby reducing the possibility of the rider crashing. ABS will be made mandatory on all new two-wheelers from April, 2019 onwards and it is good to see Suzuki offering this safety tech way in advance. So if you're planning to buy the Suzuki Gixxer SF, we urge you to buy the ABS variant as it is worth the slight premium. And if you're confused between the carburetted and fuel injected variants, we will suggest the FI version owing to slightly better performance and mileage numbers. Suzuki hasn't offered ABS on the Gixxer streetbike yet, but we expect that it will also get optional ABS in the near future.
