Tata Safari Dicor Discontinued

Tata Safari Dicor

After a long run, has now pulled the plug on the Safari Dicor and it's no longer listed on the official website. The SUV entered production in 1998 with a 2.0-litre diesel engine with just 87 horses on tap. Later in 2005, the car later earned a 3.0-litre engine with 118PS of power and 300Nm of torque. Then in 2007, it moved to the 2.2-litre motor with 140PS and 320Nm of output figures.

The also uses the same powertrain, but sits on a different chassis. The lower price point to get a Safari turned the Storme into a hot cake. The sales of the Dicor started dropping with each passing year. The addition of the Varicor 400 engine to the Storme made it a sweeter deal. As the Safari Storme gets cheaper, thanks to the GST rollout, it makes it even harder for the older Safari Dicor to justify its presence.

On the utility side, Tata is going to focus on the will continue to strengthen the company's bottom end with their value-for-money price tags.
