Following the launch of the 2017 varaints of the Z900, Z650, Ninja 650 and Ninja 300 with new colour schemes and engines meeting BS-IV norms, is now gearing up to launch the Z1000 and the Z250 tomorrow. The Z1000 is the most powerful offering in the Z series while the Z250 is the smallest and most affordable motorcycle of the lot.
The is shod with 120/70 Z R17 tyre at the front and 190/50 Z R17 tyre at the rear. The 2016 version of the Z1000 was priced at Rs 12.45 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and we expect a price bump of around Rs 50,000 andndash; Rs 1 lakh for the 2017 model.
The is the most affordable motorcycle offered by Kawasaki and is powered by a 249cc, parallel-twin engine which produces 32PS @ 11000rpm and a peak torque of 21Nm @ 10000rpm. It is constructed over a diamond type steel frame. Braking duties at the front and rear are handled by a 290mm petal disc and a 220mm petal disc with two-piston caliper respectively. The Z250 gets a 37mm telescopic fork suspension with 120mm travel at the front and bottom-link uni-trak, gas-charged monoshock unit with 130mm travel at the rear. Seat height and ground clearance is 785mm and 145mm respectively and it gets a 17 litre fuel tank. The motorcycle is currently priced at Rs 3.11 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and we expect a price hike of Rs 15,000 to Rs 30,000 for the 2017 model.
